too scary.  I am the only one in the world that gets those you know, I
am serious, the only one in the world.

Some Benefits of Aging

I don't know who the author of the following is, It was sent in an email with instructions to forward it to 7 more friends.  I receive a few of these everyday and never forward them, fear of some kind of virus or other "unfriendly"  attachments I may pass on to my friends. 
But I really love what this one has to say and wanted to share:

  I  would never trade my amazing friends, my  wonderful life, my loving  family for less gray hair or a flatter belly. As I've aged, I've become  kinder to myself, and less critical of myself. I've become my own  friend. I don't chide myself for eating that extra cookie, or for not  making my bed, or for buying that silly cement gecko that I didn't need, but looks so avante garde on my patio. I am entitled to a treat, to be messy, to be extravagant.


 
I  have seen too many dear friends leave this world too soon;  before they understood the great freedom that comes with aging.  


 
Whose  business is it if I choose to read or play on the  computer until 4 AM and  sleep until noon? I will dance with myself to those wonderful tunes of the 60  &70's, and if I, at the same time,wish to weep over a lost love  ... I will.

 
I  will walk the beach in a swim suit that  is stretched over a bulging body, and will dive into the waves with abandon if I choose to, despite the pitying glances from the jet set.They, too, will get   old.  


 
I  know I am sometimes forgetful. But there again, some of life is just as  well forgotten. And I eventually remember the important  things.  


 
Sure, over the years my heart has been broken.How can your heart not break when you lose a loved one, or when a child suffers, or even when somebody's beloved pet gets hit by a car? But broken  hearts are what give us strength and understanding and compassion.   A heart  never broken is pristine and sterile and will never know the joy of being imperfect.

 
I  am so blessed to have lived long enough to have my hair turning gray, and to have my youthful laughs be forever etched into deep grooves on my face.

   
 
So  many  have never laughed, and so many have died before their hair could turn silver.

 
As  you get older, it is easier to be positive.You care less about    what other people think.. I don't question myself anymore. I've even earned the right to be wrong.  


 
So,  to   answer your question, I like being old.  It has set me free.   I like the person I have become.  I am not going to live forever,  but while  I am still here, I will not waste time lamenting what  could   have been,  or worrying about what will be.  And I shall  eat dessert every single day  (if I feel like it).

 

Pannukakku Recipe

Pannukakku, is the premier pancake of Finland,  a wonderful dish to prepare when you're craving pancakes but don't want to spend a lot of time bent over a griddle.
Pannukakku is a proper traditional supper for the eve of the Birth of St. John the Baptist, June 24 in Finland.
My daughter is married to a true Yooper and his family dates back numerious generations to Finland and the Copper Mining in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  Through his strong Finnish heritage, many wonderful dishes have been saved by his family and passed down. 
Pannukakku is one of them.
I love the stuff, to me it taste a little like quiche, but so much easier to make.

Preheat oven to 375
Ingredients:

1 stick butter
3 eggs
2 1/2 cups milk
1 1/2 cup flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt

Melt 1/2 of the butter and coat a 9 x 13 baking pan
Mix the rest of the ingredients together in a bowl, pour into baking pan.
Bake for 30 - 40 minutes
Do a toothpick test in center to see if it is done.
Toothpick should come out clean and top of Pannukakku will be light brown.

Top off with some Powdered Sugar sprinkled on top and serve with syrup or any other favorite toppings you enjoy on pancakes.

I just received a Visa Gift Card from Vanilla Gift Card which was great.
Has a cute little photo of one of Anne Geddes little ladybug babies, too cute.
I love gift cards and even more when I win one.
BUT, I can't believe there is a $3.95 Activation Fee !!!!!!!!!!!!  I know it's not much, BUT ....
I would feel terrible if I sent one of these cards as a gift and the recipient of my gift would have to pay a Activation Fee.  I wonder why Vanilla Gift Cards does it this way.
If I was going to give one of their cards as a gift, I would rather pay the fee at the time I order the card than have the person I'm giving it to have to pay it.  I know, they don't really pay it, it is automatically taken out when the card is used, but than that makes my gift $3.95 less.

Also, if you do have one of these cards, read the cardholder agreement.  They will also charge you a monthly fee on the balance if you activate it and do not spend the full amount within 7 months.


The Giftcard Cardholder Agreement states that Vanilla Gift Cards are issued through Silverton Bank, N.A., their website states:
"This Card is issued by The Bancorp Bank, N.A., pursuant to a license from Visa U.S.A. Inc. The Bancorp Bank, N.A.; Member FDIC. I love all the designs you can get the gift cards in, but I don't think I will use this gift card for gift giving as long as the fee is charged to my gift recipient and not me.

After dying the single ply's, I re spun it on my Ashford spinning wheel and turned it into some wonderful 4ply yarn full of color.
